Item # 1: CTSO Advisor Training
Thank you to all advisors that attended the recent CTSO Advisor Training, Thursday, September 24, 2009. With 45 lead advisors in attendance SkillsUSA Maryland was one of the best-represented student organizations! I encourage you to share CTSO advisor training information with your local chapter colleagues and don’t forget to visit the official SkillsUSA Maryland website where we will be posting Power Point presentations and handouts presented at the training (www.mdskillsusa.org).
Every local chapter will receive a complimentary copy of the SkillsUSA “2010 SkillsUSA Championships Technical Standards” and “Contest Projects” CDROM as soon the back-ordered shipment is released from national headquarters. Remember to share this information with all instructors and students planning to participate in SkillsUSA local, regional, state and/or national competitions!
Item #2: Fall Leadership Conference
SkillsUSA Maryland will be returning to the beautiful Carousel Hotel and Conference Center for the annual fall leadership conference, November 5-6, 2009. Please select your most motivated and well-behaved student officers/members to represent your local chapter at this educational and enjoyable conference.
Attached you will find the 2009 SkillsUSA fall leadership conference housing, tally and medical release forms. Please complete and return these forms electronically to the state director and state financial officer by the posted deadline, Friday, October 9, 2009.
