Item #1: Knowledge Test Study Guide

Please use the attached study guide to prepare your students for the 2010 State Championship Tie-Breaker test.  Answer key is also attached.

Item #2: State Officer Testing and Interviews

State Officer application packets (application attached) should be returned to the state director by Friday, February 19, 2010. Officer testing and interviews will be returning to the Calvert Career Center, Prince Frederick, MD, Saturday, February 27, 2010.  Please encourage interested local officers to run for state office.

Item #4: Instructor Meeting at National SkillsUSA Headquarters

On February 10, 2010, SkillsUSA will be hosting an instructor event at the SkillsUSA National Leadership Center to announce the release of the new “ASK: Advisor Success Kit” and the newly updated PDP Online.

The teacher meeting will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2010, 3 p.m. at the SkillsUSA National Leadership Center in Leesburg, Virginia. All instructors are welcome to attend, and there is no charge. Attendees will receive a free copy of the new ASK: Advisor’s Success Kit, a SkillsUSA logo gift item and other SkillsUSA materials (total value of $50 or more). ASK is an electronic encyclopedia for managing a SkillsUSA chapter, and it has been completed revised through a grant from Newell Rubbermaid. There will also be an overview of the all new PDP Online, which was revised through a grant from Lowe's.

Executive Director Tim Lawrence will speak, and members of the training staff will update teachers on various SkillsUSA resources. If you haven't been to the center lately, this is a wonderful chance to visit and network with others.

A national Web conference will be held Thursday, February 11, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. eastern time. All instructors are welcome to participate. Participants who register in advance will receive a free copy of the new ASK: Advisor’s Success Kit.
